Austria to Highlight Diversity with Seminar Series at London International Wine Fair

Austria's outstanding grape varieties and an in-depth look at the “7 Elements of Uniqueness” that make up Austria's wine culture will be featured in a series of wine tasting seminars at London ExCel next week.

Four Austrian wine tasting seminars focusing on Austria's outstanding grape varieties, their exciting terroirs, and the “7 Elements of Uniqueness” defining Austria's wine culture, will be conducted at the Austrian stands I50 and J50 at the London International Wine Fair, which will take place on May 17th, 18th and 19th at London's ExCel. The seminars will be presented by Willi Klinger, general manager of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board, and wine writer Darrel Joseph, who specializes in the wines and wine regions of Austria, and will be held in the special tasting area amongst the 22 Austrian wineries presenting their wines at the fair. In addition to the seminars, a presentation featuring the renowned Austrian glass maker, Riedel, will be held at the stands as well.

The 7 Elements of Uniqueness seminar presented by Willi Klinger will define the individuality of not only Austrian wines, but also of Austria as one of the world's truly distinctive wine countries. It will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18th at 10 a.m.

Each of the three seminars conducted by Darrel Joseph will highlight Austria's diverse – and remarkable - grape varieties:

Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc – Tuesday, May 17th, 3 p.m.
Blaufränkisch - Wednesday, May 18th, 3 p.m.
Zweigelt and St. Laurent – Thursday, 10 a.m.

In addition to the seminars, there will be daily general Austrian wine tastings held at the Wine Bar at the Austrian Wine Marketing Board Stand I50. Pl
