Hoe verkoop je Italiaanse wijn in stijl? Dat thema is voor de komende Vinitaly in Verona ( 25-28 maart) breed uitgewerkt, voor het eerst in samenwerking met het Amerikaanse blad Wine Spectator. Honderd Italiaanse producenten nemen dan deel aan: OperaWine, waar de Italiaanse wijntop zich presenteert. De selectie daarvoor wordt in samenwerking met het Amerikaanse, toonaangevende blad gemaakt. Het volgende bericht werd op een persconferentie in Verona vrijgegeven:

“OperaWine” (http://www.operawine.it) – an innovative project, designed to cultivate knowledge on the excellence and diversity of the finest Italian wines and simultaneously give wine lovers the chance to experience unique, historical and cultural sites within the Italian peninsula. Exclusive initiatives related to Italian wine, food and culture is to encourage international operators, journalists, sommeliers, wine educators, and high profile wine aficionados alike to explore the fascinating history and context of Italian wine production.

For its premier event: “Finest Italian Wines: 100 Great Producers” OperaWine has partnered with the famous and influential magazine Wine Spectator, which for the first time ever has made a selection of the finest wines produced in one single country starting from the Italian peninsula and the excellence of its wines.

Vinitaly – The largest wine fair in the world with over 4,500 producers and 150,000+ visitors (including 45,000 from foreign countries). The event is held every year in Verona, Italy (46th edition: Verona 25-28 March 2012).
