Emmanuel Cruse succeeds Michel-Pierre Massonie as Head of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux (Great Bordeaux Wine Council), with its 75 branches around the world.
There has been a change of leadership for the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux. After nine years as president, Michel-Pierre Massonie is handing over to Emmanuel Cruse, the new Grand Master.
The induction ceremony took place yesterday afternoon and was indirectly witnessed by passers-by in downtown Bordeaux. As tradition dictates, all the representatives of the Commanderies of France and elsewhere were present in their ceremonial robes and processed from the CIVB to the foyer of the Grand Theatre.
Although the parade was colourful and picturesque, its traditional appearance was nevertheless somewhat misleading. For the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux is not merely there to prettify festivals. It serves as a real tool for the promotion of fine wine around the world.
